The Difference

WHO'S = "who is" or "who has" (contraction) WHOSE = possessive form (belonging to whom)

The Test

Try substituting "who is":

  • "Who's coming?" = "Who is coming?" ✓
  • "Whose book?" = "Who is book?" ✗

Examples

"Who's ready?" (Who is) "Whose turn is it?" (possession)
